After file plan configurations and taxonomies have been set up, the System Administrator needs to relate document templates and documents to the newly-created file plans.

It is recommended that the relevant document templates are associated to the applicable file plans as required. This ensures that all instantiated documents are automatically related to the correct file plans. Documents may be associated to file plans on an individual basis as required by expanding the File Plan topic and associating the applicable file plan(s). Alternatively, the Documents topic on the file plan can be expanded and documents found in a search can be dragged and dropped onto that topic.
